Inside a GRP Composite Door

Insulated GRP Composite Doors are strong, durable and extremely secure. They are manufactured in line with extremely high quality guidelines. Their extremely respectable strength comes from the construction of a sub-frame in solid, water-resistant polymer material, reinforced behind with Laminated Veneered Lumber (LVL). Thermoset GRP skins are bonded to the sub frame and high density 100% CFC-free polyurethane foam is filled into the core. This provides extremely high levels of acoustic and thermal efficiency.

Insulation properties of GRP Composite Door are unrivalled in both sound reduction and heat retention. They are particularly good at reducing road traffic noise and, with their high thermal insulation qualities, they outperform both timber and uPVC doors. The ultimate insulation properties contribute to the energy efficiency of your home, and can contribute to substantial savings on your energy bills.

What is GRP?

Thermoset GRP skins are Depression Moulded over authentic timber panels. This produces a lifelike grain effect. High definition panels provide the appearance of an authentic timber door, but without the negative qualities of wooden doors. Thermoset GRP cannot expand or contract laterally, meaning GRP Composite Doors cannot expand or contracts (or increase or decrease in size) which is a massive advantage over other types of door, such as uPVC.

GRP Composite Door Colours

There are a choice of standard colours (White, Red, Green, Blue and Black) as well as premium colours that include popular options such as Anthracite Grey and Chartwell Green. There are also a choice of natural Woodgrain colours - Golden Oak and Rosewood. If there is a colour that you like, and you know the RAL number of that colour, we can also produce your GRP Composite Door in that colour for you for an additional charge.
