COVID19 SAFE WORKING

How we're working through COVID-19

At the start of Lockdown we were all told to "stay home, protect the NHS and save lives". This also meant that companies that worked inside the homes of Customers also had to cease operating. We have been on Lockdown since the beginning of March, but have constantly been answering questions from Customers, producing no-obligation quotations and taking deposit-free orders in principal.

Now, with the slight relaxation in Lockdown and the change in message from Boris Johnson to "stay alert, control the virus and save lives", we are able to resume our Surveying and Installing operations, working to strict guidelines. These guidelines have been researched and scrutinised in depth and we have worked tirelessly to ensure that our Company adheres to all of the terms that the Government has put in place. Under supervision from CERTASS, our Government approved regulatory body, we have produced additional steps into our operating procedures which will protect our Customers and Site Operatives.

These safe working practices include:

  • No house visits for quotations;

    • Customers can design their own Doors on our website.

    • Customers can design their own Windows on our website.

    • Failing the above;

      • We offer special offer Doors that can be viewed online.

      • Customers can email photographs of their current Windows and/or Doors to us.

      • Customers can send approximate measurements of items to us (width x height).

      • Assuming measurements are not "out" by an unacceptable amount of 200mm (20cm) or more our quotation will not change.

    • Customers can email a photograph of their property to us and we can superimpose new Windows/Doors onto it for them (free of charge and no-obligation).

    • Quotations will be emailed to the Customer, and as many Quotations as are required will be provided, obligation-free.

  • No handshake when the Surveyor/Installer arrives on-site.

  • Keeping social distance of at least 2m, preferably customers to stay out of the room which is being worked in.

  • All areas will be cleaned down by the Surveyor/Installer.

  • PPE will be provided and worn at all practicable times by the Surveyor/Installer.

  • All Surveys will require additional controlled paperwork (see Declaration below);

    • The Surveyor will provide a signed Declaration no more than 24 hours prior to Survey to confirm that he and his household are well and show no signs of Coronavirus. This is for the Customer's peace of mind.

    • The Homeowner will be required to complete and sign a Declaration, which will sent to them no more than 24 prior to Survey, to confirm that their household is well and show no signs of Coronavirus. Questions will be also be asked about anybody who is Vulnerable or Self-Isolating. This is for the Surveyors peace of mind.

  • All Installations will require additional controlled paperwork (see Declaration below);

    • The Supervising Installer will provide a signed Declaration no more than 24 hours prior to Survey to confirm that he and any other Site Operatives working with him are well and show no signs of Coronavirus.

This is for the Site Operative(s) peace of mind.

  • This is a condensed list of procedures and is subject to change inline with Government advice and regulations.

Our industry is still able to continue working, although we request that our customers read the following additional measures:

  • All quotations will continue be produced remotely and discounts applied for Customer's cooperation in obtaining photographs and approximate measurements as requested.

  • In order to perform the Survey it is also requested that Customers wear a Face Mask and maintain at least 2m from the Surveyor, which will ensure the safety of both parties.

  • Fitter(s) will wear a Face Mask whilst entering and navigating the property but are often unable to wear one during Installation itself due to the labour intensive nature of the job.

  • It is requested that you wear a Face Mask and maintain at least 2m if in the vicinity.

  • It is also expected that you leave the room and keep the door closed (if applicable) to that room whilst Installation takes place.
