Frequently Asked Questions / FAQ's
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. All of our quotations are free and absolutely pressure and obligation free. We aim to respond to all quotation requests within 24 hours, but more complex quotations can take longer. We will always keep you informed of any delays though. Windows generally take longer to quote, whereas doors can generally be priced very quickly. The best way to request a door quotation is to design your own door and submit it to us online using our online door designer.
Do you sell cheap Windows & Doors?
In our industry, the word "cheap" refers to substandard products. We therefore do NOT sell cheap products! Instead we source some of the most respected products on the market and provide them at very competitive rates. In fact, we only provide the industries most resepcted and leading products. These incude REHAU uPVC Windows and solid core composite doors from Endurance Doors.
How long will my order take to arrive?
This varies based on the product you are purchasing and the colours required. For example, white uPVC Windows have a minimum lead time of 1 week from order, most Composite Doors have a lead time of 2 weeks from order, and certain more complex items cam take 2-3 weeks from order. Our official completion time from order to installation is 3-6 weeks, however we complete over 99% of our orders within 3-4 weeks.
*UPDATE* Coronavirus has led to drastic changes for all manufacturers across the United Kingdom. Where we had previously quoted 3-6 weeks from Order to Installation, and hit an average of 3-4 weeks, we are now having to advise 4-8 weeks for most products, and hope to hit 4-5 weeks for the majority of them. This is because of manufacturing staff being Furloughed or having to adhere to Social Distancing rules in the workplace, meaning less staff to produce orders than pre-Coronavirus.
What payment methods do you accept?
Our preferred method is via Bank Transfer. We also accept all major Credit/Debit Cards. Finance is available from 9.9% APR Representative (subject to status). More information relating to Finance can be found here.
Is there a discount for paying up front?
Homeowners are not advised to pay in full for their order, so we do not offer a discount for doing so. Deposits are a minimum of 25% and are due on order (your order is not accepted until we have received your signed Order Form and Deposit). Final balance is due on the day of Installation. If you are interested in spreading the cost of your order, finance is available from 9.9% APR Representative. More about Finance can be found here.
Trade orders are generally due to be paid in full on order unless otherwise agreed.
Can you beat my best quote?
It is quite likely that we can beat any like-4-like quotation you have received. The quickest way to find this out is to send us a copy of your quotation. This will result in a much faster answer. In most cases where we have been unable to beat a quotation, the initial quotation has been of a lesser quality than the quality products that we supply. Like-4-Like applies to the products (including quality, security and energy efficiency) as well as VAT, Guarantees and CERTASS/FENSA certification.
Do you have a brochure I can look at?
We have several brochures available to view or download. They can be seen here.
Do doors come with frames?
This is a question we are asked on an unbelievably regualr basis! Yes - every Door is priced and supplied with everything you should expect from a door - the door "slab", the frame, glass, handles, hinges etc. When we Supply & Install any product(s) they are provided with everything required, all trims, fixings, silicone etc as well as a 10 year Insurance Backed Guarantee and CERTASS certification. Our Endurance Doors are provided with a FREE UPGRADE to a 3* High Security Ultion( WXM Locking Cylinder, offering anti-snap, anti-bump, anti-pick and anti-drill protection, as well as an additional £1000 break-in guarantee!
If you are buying Supply Only from us, we do not supply fixings, silicone or CERTASS certifications etc and you are responsible for providing full surveyed dimensions for us to order from, including Frame Extenders / Add-Ons and External Cill details. If required, we can perform your Survey for you for a "per item" fee.
Do you supply A-Rated Windows?
Yes - in fact REHAU produced the first ever double glazed A-Rated window in the UK. To help you out, we price everything as C-Rated and upgrade it to A-Rated FREE OF CHARGE. This helps your pocket as well as the Environment.
Do you have a showroom?
We do not currently have a showroom available, although there are plans to open one sometime in 2021 at our new premises in Barry. Because we do not operate a showroom our costs are kept lower, because we do not charge you our operating fees and we do not employ commission based sales staff to operate a showroom, as many other companies do. It is worth remembering that most Builders, Electricians, Plumbers, IT Experts, Hairdressers, Barbers, Beauty Salons, Restaurants, Hotels and many other businesses do not have showrooms, and most people reading this will have purchased from them based on having seen their work, read reviews or receiving recommendations.
What sort of guarantee will I get?
As standard we offer a 10 year Installation Guarantee and a 10 year Manufacturers Guarantee, both of which are covered by a 10 year Insurance Backed Guarantee by HomePro (membership number 582008). Once your order has been completed we will register your IBG (Insurance Backed Guarantee) online and you will be contacted directly by HomePro, usually via telephone. You then activate your IBG by answering a short survey on our performance.
Are you FENSA registered?
We try to keep up with the times, and FENSA has been around for such a long time that we prefer a more modern equivalent - CERTASS. Both schemes exist to allow us to self certify our work in accordance with Building Regulations. This means that all work we do will be fully certified, making the sale of your property much easier and less expensive in the future. If you have work done that does not comply with Building Regs, you would be liable to pay your local council to arrange for a building surveyor to check the work before you can sell yoru house, which can be around £250 to register and as much as £500 for the inspection.
Do you have any awards?
We have multiple awards, and we're very proud of each of them!
We hve been awarded:

Are you a one man band?
Not all all! We are a family-run, profitable Limited Company (reg no. 11654260) who are VAT registered (reg no. 315 3976 91), members of the Federation of Small Business (member no. 51634088) which consists of Management, Administrative, Accounts, Surveyors, Fitters and Labourers.
Are you insured?
Yes, we are fully insured! We have our Public Liability Insurance and Employers Liability insurance paid by choice 1 year in advance at all times.
Do you only do doors?
Not at all. We admit that we may have made a bad decision when we decided to name the company Composite Doors Cardiff however, we didn't ever expect to become a household name so quickly or to do as well as we have so quickly. Not only do we provide the best uPVC, insulated and timber or solid core composite doors available, but we also offer aluminium windows & doors, uPVC windows and more. We are happy to work on residential properties, commercial properties and are also actively involved with work on new build properties around South Wales. To rename the company at this stage would be a drawn out and expensive task, besides which - you're here reading this now and you know we don't just offer doors!
Do you run any Special Offers?
Absolutley! Please take a look at the Special Offers page.
There are 4 offers currently available:
Reinforced uPVC Back Doors from £765.
Reinforced uPVC Front Doors at £895.
Premium Solid Core Endurance composite doors at £1195.
The best deal available is for our premium Endurance Doors range of high security, solid core composte doors (the UK's most secure door), which offers a saving of at least £300!
Are there any Government Grants available for new double glazing?
There is no such thing! This is saldy an advertising scam that we see a lot of, especially on Ssocia Media. The companies that do this basically sell you a 10p mix for £1, then "give you grant funding" of 80p to help you out, whilst still selling the 10p Mix at twice its value. Please click here for more information.
Do you operate the Window Scrappage Scheme?
Please see this page for information relating to why we do not operate such a scheme.
Do you do windows?
Yes indeed. We are local, trusted, multi-award-winning experts in secure Windows and Doors. We offer a free Window Design service as well as making windows to match your existing windows if needed.
Are you open through Coronavirus and Lockdown?
We are indeed. The Construction Industry is encouraged to continue to operate with several additional safety procedures put in place. Please see this page to learn more about how we are working with COVID-19.
